MATT HEINECKE
Matt Heinecke isn’t your average guy with a guitar. With over 20 years of experience, he’s crafted a sound that’s as eclectic as the places he’s performed. Back in high school, you might have caught him in a corner coffee shop in Coronado, strumming away like someone who already knew this was his path. And he was right. That early passion for music led him to USC, where he dug deep into classical and jazz guitar and honed his voice.
Matt cut his teeth as a singer-songwriter and studio musician in Los Angeles and Nashville—two cities where the music is as relentless as the ambition required to make it. He didn’t just play; he absorbed. Every chord, every lyric, and every experience became part of the signature sound he was creating—a blend of folk, classic rock, jazz, country, and bluegrass. And when he finally made his way back home to San Diego in 2007, he brought that rich, diverse musicality with him.
He’s been a go-to for some of Southern California’s biggest events, proving that versatility is the name of the game. Whether he’s playing for a packed corporate function or a private event, Matt’s guitar work and vocals bring something deeper, something real. And when he’s not performing, you’ll find him shaping the next generation of musicians as a dedicated music teacher in Coronado Unified School District. A guy who’s seen the world, heard it all, and still knows there’s always something more to play.
