DUSTY BROUGH
Dusty Brough isn’t your typical guitarist. No, this guy's a walking, breathing fusion of genres, a master of blending Flamenco with Jazz, Folk, Brazilian, Gypsy, and Balkan music like it's no big deal. He’s got a knack for taking music from all corners of the globe, ripping it apart, and putting it back together into something entirely fresh, something undeniably Dusty. His nylon-string guitar is an extension of himself, and when he plays, it’s like watching someone dance across an open flame—rhythms weaving in and out, harmonies as fluid as the ocean waves he loves to surf.
Dusty’s the kind of musician who can’t be boxed in. He’s got technique, sure, but it’s his blatant disregard for sticking to one genre that sets him apart. He’s toured with cats like Jesse Cook and Hans York, and his collaboration with mandolin virtuoso Eva Scow on Sharon by the Sea earned critical acclaim. But Dusty’s not about the accolades; he’s about the experience, the journey, the sound. His playing is unpredictable, intricate, and yet somehow, it makes perfect sense. It’s the kind of music that, after one listen, you’re left wondering how the hell you’ve lived without it.
Based out of Los Angeles, Dusty spends his days performing, recording, and catching waves. Whether he’s on stage or in the studio, one thing’s for sure—he’s a musician who leaves you wanting more.
