STACY ANTONEL
Stacy Antonel is an idiosyncratic artist with roots in classical piano and a sound that feels both vintage and hyper-modern. Based in Nashville, Stacy weaves together country, jazz, and a touch of R&B, creating a unique brand of Americana she likes to call "country jazz." Imagine the 1920s and 30s, back when jazz and country weren’t so far apart, and you'll get a sense of where she’s coming from.
Her music has the wit of Courtney Barnett paired with the raw, emotive power of Patsy Cline. Stacy’s lyrics aren’t just catchy, they’re conversational, full of narrative twists that keep you hooked. “I like full-throated, passionate singing,” she says. “I want the notes to burst out of me.” Her debut full-length album, Always the Outsider, is set to drop soon, blending compelling stories, jazz-tinged vocals, and unexpected subject matter. She’s not just making country music—she’s redefining it.
Originally from Ocean Beach, San Diego, Stacy’s musical journey started early. Raised on a mix of Tori Amos and Otis Redding, she studied classical piano and then wandered the world—singing in bands from Buenos Aires to Californiabefore discovering her love for country. In 2017, she moved to Nashville, embracing the city’s rich musical history while recording her debut EP as Ginger Cowgirl.
Now, Always the Outsider sees Stacy breaking free from any one genre, mixing old-school country with mid-century jazz and themes of disconnectedness, isolation, and even alien romance. There’s an otherworldly beauty in her music, a sense that Stacy Antonel is here to make her mark on the past and the future of country.
