Chiara Capobianco didn’t stumble into music. She was raised in it—Italy, tradition, discipline, the whole beautiful machine. By 15 she was already performing with orchestras touring across Europe, with classical piano, flute, and ballet in her bones… until the harp showed up and rewired the plan. That’s what the harp does when it gets its hooks in you: it turns “background elegance” into the main event.

Her career has been built the hard way—one stage, one ballroom, one lobby, one long flight at a time. She’s performed across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and South America, including six years as a resident harpist aboard Cunard’s luxury fleet (Queen Mary II, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Victoria), where “showtime” means absolute consistency, night after night, for audiences who’ve heard everything. Along the way she’s been invited to perform for HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and for Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi—moments that sound glamorous, but are really the result of someone who can deliver under pressure with grace.

In 2024, while back in Italy, she was awarded the Premio Rossetti-Montano Artisti girovaghi contemporanei—Contemporary Globetrotter Artist—which is basically the official stamp on what her passport has been saying for years.

Now calling San Diego home, Chiara brings that world-traveled precision to Southern California’s most refined rooms and celebrations. Her repertoire is massive (1,000+ selections) and genuinely eclectic: classical, opera, medieval, renaissance, jazz, movie themes, musicals, contemporary and popular favorites, plus folk traditions from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy, South America, and India—including Bollywood and romantic standards she performed while touring weddings and special events across India. Locally, she serves as resident harpist for Afternoon Tea at San Diego’s Westgate Hotel, performs throughout La Jolla and greater Southern California, and teaches harp at La Jolla Music.
